It all began with a trip to Madrid in 1999..

Inspired to study Flamenco in its homeland, I ventured to the Spanish capital with 10 years of flamenco study and performance behind me. This study tour changed

my life. The classes were challenging and so intense and the shows I saw were 

aweinspiring. Since then, I have dedicated my life to learning Flamenco and

building the community in Australia

Founded by Zoe Vélez in 2013, Flamenkisimo is a Sydney based Flamenco ensemble featuring mesmerising  dancers and live music. Originally, a Flamenco dancer  Zoe is now focusing on Flamenco singing and producing live shows.

 

Our shows are designed to uphold the traditions of this Unesco Heritage listed art form and bring Flamenco to new audiences. All our artists have studied extensively in Spain and in Australia and come together to create unbridled, impassioned performances of the highest calibre. No show is ever the same, and we constantly update our material bringing audiences the latest musical delights from Spain.
